Spicy Cranberry Relish
3 to 4 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped (or to taste)
8 cups cranberries
2 limes, zested and juiced
2 oranges, zested and juiced
1-1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
Salt and fresh ground black pepper
Put all of the ingredients in a sauce pot; bring to a boil over medium heat.
Reduce the heat and simmer until desired consistency, about 30-40 minutes.
I made a batch of stuffing (I really couldn't wait), got some nice, fresh deli turkey and had my leftover turkey sandwich fix!

I love the idea of this -- adding jalapeno to cranberries. The mix of spicy and sweet is so appealing to me. But, I have to admit, probably not with the rest of the folks at Thanksgiving time. That's how we manage to have two of everything -- the new and the old.
ReplyDeleteSounds great with the jalapenos! I have a leftover bag of cranberries in the freezer I want to do something with:@) Happy Weekend Patti!
