Ingredients:
- 1 can (15 ounces) chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
- 1/2 cup loosely packed fresh basil leaves
- 1 clove garlic, peeled
- 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- Pretzel Crisps, pita chips or crudite
- Drain the chickpeas, reserving 1 Tablespoon liquid. Rinse the chickpeas with cold water and drain well.
- Place the chickpeas, reserved liquid, basil, garlic, lemon juice, oil, salt and pepper into a food processor. Cover and process until the mixture is smooth.

Great additions to such a simple spread. I adore lemony hummus too, so I bet the basil tastes great.
